Annual

Just a reminder of our Annual Ceremonial Review.
Cadets to arrive 1530 or as close to as possible for practice and set up. 
Arrive in civilian dress with C1 Uniform ready to go (Ironed and shone) there will not be time Friday to work on it that night.
Hairs: females hair to be in a bun, males with hair cut, all must be off the ears and off the collar.
Cadets will be fed
Parents to arrive and be seated for 1830.

Sweatshirts

Sweatshirts are in!  If you ordered one, you can bring your money ($50) Friday night to annual and pick it up.

Awards Scoring


In an effort to increase transparency, it has been decided to post the criteria as well as the scoring rubric for squadron awards.

Should there be any questions please contact the Squadron Commanding Officer.

Sir Douglas Badder Award (Top Overall Cadet) – Available to all cadets – Awarded to the Cadet that achieves the highest score in the Scoring Rubric

Top First Year Award – Available to Level One Cadets - Awarded to the Cadet that achieves the highest score in the Scoring Rubric

Top Jr. NCO Award – Available to Cadets Ranking Corporals through Sergeants – Awarded to the Cadet that achieves the highest score in the Scoring Rubric

G.R. Burnisten Award (Top Marksman) – Available to all cadets in the Squadron - Awarded to the cadet with the highest score in the highest level of competition achieved by the squadron or individual.  Failing any competition in a given year, the award will go to the cadet with the smallest grouping on grouping targets shooting for familiarization

Jack Waggot Esprit De Corp Award – Available to all Cadets of the Squadron – Awarded to the cadet who has the most positive affects the Esprit De Corp of the squadron.  Selected through poling of Squadron Staff

294 Citizenship Award – Available to all Cadets of the Squadron – Awarded to the cadet who has the most positive affect on their community.  In addition to a tally of Community parades and events attended by cadets.  Written or verbal submissions from the public and cadets themselves are reviewed by staff and weighed against each other and the award determined.

WOII Joshua Heckler Award (Most Improved as Voted by Cadets) – Available to All Cadets of the Squadron - Awarded to the most Improved Cadet as voted on by cadets in the squadron. Votes taken and counted.  The cadet with the highest number of votes wins the award. In the event of a tie, additional votes will be taken with only those names available, until a winner is found.

Air Cadet Service Medals – Available to all cadets of the Squadron – Awarded to those with four (4) completed years of Cadet Service.  (Typically held until Annual.)  A bar and rosette to be issued for each additional completed year of service.

Hector J. Moore Award (Honourary membership) – Available to Retired / Retiring staff - Awarded to staff who have gone above and beyond for the squadron.

The squadron may at any time change the criteria for the awards, provided they are publicly posted.

Scores are calculated using the rubric and conducting a file review of each cadet.

We want to know what you as a cadet are doing outside of the program to help your community.  Please submit a list of those things you do when you're not with cadets that help to improve your community, your fellow citizens or your country.  Please submit list by email or I'm writing not later than 2100hrs 27 May 2019

Holiday Monday and Tuesday

Quick reminder that Monday is a holiday and no cadets.  But we will be having a practice parade with Blenheim RCACS on Tuesday 21 May 2019.  Civilian dress, but please bring your boots.  Standard cadet times. 6:30 - 9:00pm at Blenheim District Highschool

Due to delays beyond our control, today's flight times are currently delayed.  Return times for cadets are currently unknown.  When a more concrete return time is known we will post it here.

Globemaster Flight Details

Please find the list of those cadets selected to attend the Globemaster flight and the Details for the event

Date: 18 May 2019

Time: Arrive for 0800hrs(if you are not there on time the bus will NOT wait)
           Expected time to leave the Airport is 1430hrs and expected return time of 1600hrs

Location: Bloomfield Truck Stop

Dress: C4 - this is with the tunic All Pins, Name Tags, and Ribbons/Medals are to be removed.

Requirements:  Cadets Must Have Health Cards with them
                           Cadets are required to have eaten breakfast before arriving for the bus

Drill competition

Be at the Armouries on Bloomfield Rd no later than 6:30am 11 May 2019 with everything on kit list below in appropriate civilian clothing, prefer squadron t-shirt/sweater.
We do not know a return time as of yet, but cadets are able to call when we are exiting off the 401. It is anticipated that return time will be after supper.

     19 May 2019 - Gliding, Chatham Airport 0900 - 1300hrs (Dress Civilian)
     21 May 2019 - Training Night and Location Change ( due to holiday we are parading on Tuesday night at the Blenheim Highschool Dress is civilian attire)
     26 May 2019 - Decoration Day Parade, Maple Leaf Cemetery 1300 hrs (Dress C1)
     27 May 2019 - Training Night location Change - Practice at CKSS
     31 May 2019 - Annual Ceremonial Review, CKSS 1530 - 2100hrs ( Dress :arrive in Civilian attire and have uniform with you to change at the event)
